Hang On, Spider Monkey - Its A Jungle Vacation
Jungle tourism is becoming a very popular way of taking a vacation. Whether it has come about because of great interest in ecology and eco-systems or whether a person just watched a lot of Tarzan movies when they were a kid, trips to jungles are now big busy and have become more affordable options to families.
The majority of jungle vacations take place in countries like Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala but theres always Africa, Australia and places in the South Pacific for longer adventures. These trips arent independent travel but tours with guides who are certified and professional. Going into remote regions requires someone along who knows the rules, the hazards and how to prepare for anything that can happen. Most of these trips will include unusual methods of transportation which have to be arranged in advance. Dont expect air conditioned cars. Do expect bicycles, canoes, walking or riding a horse to get to your destination. Groups will be small and if you are a large family, it may just be your group. Tour operators are very conscious of what impact people make on the land they travel through so big groups dont work well.
Jungle vacations can be a wonderful adventure for people of any age. Children who are being educated about ecology are fascinated with real rain forests and animals theyve only seen at the zoo. To see a jungle up close and in person is a life long memory. These trips can be expensive but like any other vacation, some research will give you an idea whether or not the more economical ones will be as fulfilling and interesting. Do your research and say hello to the wildlife!
